Fauna

I was originally just going to feature birds in this section - you’ll notice they do sort of dominate! But as I was going through my work selecting the images to use, I kept coming across animals that I thought would be interesting to include. So now this section is given over to the broader classification of fauna. Towards the end of this group you will find some images of marine molluscs known as chiton. These are tiny creatures - often between 25mm and 60mm in length. They live in the intertidal zone on beaches, usually underneath rocks, passing their lives largely unnoticed by humans, and yet they are fascinating wee creatures. So I reckoned they deserved a bit of a starring role.

I do hope you enjoy the images I’ve chosen to share with you here. Please click on the individual images to see a larger version.
